Hey everyone,
Daniel from Ready Mixer
Today we are going to talk about cement and the different types.
To begin, here is a list of the different types of cement.
Type I – for general purpose
Type IA – same as Type I, but when air entrainment is desired
Type II – for moderate sulfate resistance
Type IIA – same as Type II, but when air entrainment is desired
Type II(MH) – much like Type II, but when moderate heat of hydration is desired
Type II(MH)A – same as Type II(MH), but when air entrainment is desired
Type III – for high early strength
Type IIIA – same as Type III, but when air entrainment is desired
Type IV – for low heat of hydration
Type V – for high sulfate resistance
Air-entrained cement helps prevent cracking and scaling. It also improves the workability of concrete and allows structures to last longer. Generally, 4 – 7 percent of the concrete volume is air entrained.
Sulfate corrodes steel, so when you have structures that are steel-reinforced, Type II Concrete may be the best option to prevent steel reinforcement corrosion.
Moderation heat of hydration is a type of cement that is produced with less heat to prevent heat cracking in concrete and compromising the structural integrity of a building.
Given the different types of cement you can utilize for your projects we have multiple machines that could work well with any short load or rural project.
